Faith in Action: How Worship is Healing South Africa’s Communities

Read Time:1 Minute, 50 Second

Across South Africa, young people face unemployment, families struggle with poverty, and communities are scarred by gender-based violence and rising mental health crises. For many, despair and hopelessness have become daily companions. Yet in the midst of these challenges, a powerful solution is emerging—worship.

For ten years, Heart of Worship (H.O.W) has been at the forefront of this spiritual revival. By creating spaces for prophetic worship deeply rooted in both faith and cultural identity, H.O.W has helped thousands of South Africans find hope, healing, and a renewed sense of purpose.

This year, the movement celebrates a decade of impact with its 10th Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, 29 November 2025, at Springs of Mercy, Broadacres. Headlined by David Sax alongside Prophet Hope Khoza and Nozipho Phiri, the event promises an evening of heartfelt worship designed to restore faith, unity, and community resilience.

Ahead of the event, we are excited to discuss themes that address South Africa’s most pressing social issues:

– Youth and Religion: Strengthening faith, identity, and hope among young people confronting unemployment and uncertainty.
– Spirituality vs GBV & Poverty: Offering worship as a pathway to healing trauma and rebuilding lives.
– Faith & Mental Health: Harnessing the therapeutic power of worship to alleviate depression, anxiety, and hopelessness.
– Cultural Reclamation through Worship: Reviving indigenous worship traditions as a source of cultural pride and empowerment.
– Masculinity, Gender, and Relationships: Promoting humility, service, and godly relationships to foster stronger communities.

“Our 10th Anniversary is more than a celebration. It is a prophetic call to restore dignity and faith through worship,” says David Sax.

The event is free and open to all. Tickets are available on Quicket. This ensures everyone can attend while helping organisers manage the event safely. Worship is more than music—it is transformation.
