Ushuni Womhlaba Auditions Head to Eastern Cape: Discover Mzansi’s Next Big Talent!

Television production heavyweight, Thabo Mphelo Films (TMF) urges South Africans to come out in large numbers and audition for the brand-new talent search show, uShuni Womhlaba, set to premiere on SABC 1 on 7 July 2024 at 18:00 – 19:00.
uShuni Womhlaba will be holding its auditions at Lusikisiki Health Resource Centre from 09:00 – 17:00 on Saturday, 29 June, and Sunday 30 June 2024. Contestants are invited to showcase their musical talents in genres such as Maskandi, Afro-pop, Isicathamiya, and Mbhaqanga.
The show will be hosted by Ukhozi FM’s Mandla Magwaza, affectionately known as “Njinji wami,” and Metro FM’s Mpumi Mlambo, aka “MSAKAZI.”
uShuni Womhlaba features seasoned judges whose musical journeys have had a tremendous impact on the South African music scene. Rapper and songwriter Big Zulu, known for his hit singles like “Imali Eningi” and “Inhlupheko,” along with talented composer and singer Msaki, will work alongside rapper, musician, actress, and poet Sho Madjozi and veteran Maskandi musician Phuzekhemisi. These musicians bring a blend of expertise to balance the mix of musicality, performance, and technicality required.
TMF is known for its rich history of creating and telling South African stories through successful talent search, educational, and entertaining shows such as Jika Majika, One Mic, Zaziwa, and Daily Thetha on SABC platforms.
“This past weekend, Kwa Mai Mai was abuzz with excitement as hundreds of contestants flocked to Johannesburg for the first regional auditions of the ground-breaking new music competition show, uShuni Womhlaba. This weekend we are doing it again, this time in Lusikisiki, Eastern Cape. We urge South Africans to come out in large numbers and audition,” said TMF CEO and Executive Producer of Ushuni Womhlaba, Mr. Thabo Mphelo.
Although regional auditions are underway, contestants still have a chance to audition online via social media and the official website www.ushuniwomhlaba.tv.
